Curious, critical and hopeful.
We are interested in what a technology does, the system that makes it possible and the people asked to live with its consequences. Wonder and scrutiny belong in the same story.
02 / Editorial standards
Show the work.
Reported claims should be attributed to primary or reputable independent sources. Opinion is labelled. Projections are distinguished from observed results. Reviews should disclose supplied equipment, sponsorship and testing limits. Subjects of substantial criticism should have a fair opportunity to respond.
Writers and editors remain responsible for every published sentence, including work assisted by software. Automated output is never treated as a source.
03 / Corrections
Fix visibly.
Material factual errors should be corrected promptly and accompanied by a note explaining what changed. Clarifications that improve precision without changing the substance may be noted when readers would benefit from the context.
04 / Accessibility
More than one way in.
Articles remain available as linear HTML even when they appear inside the visual issue reader. Images should carry useful alternative text, video should include captions and transcripts, and core journeys should work by keyboard and at reduced motion settings.
This prototype has not yet completed a formal WCAG conformance audit. Accessibility defects can be reported using the contact details below.
05 / Prototype privacy
Local means local.
The current Writer Studio and community composer save demonstration data in your browser using local storage. No account, draft, password or newsletter address is transmitted to CircuitHive by this prototype. Clearing site data removes those local drafts.
Google Fonts may receive ordinary request information when pages load. A production release should publish a complete privacy notice covering hosting, analytics, newsletters, accounts and retention before collecting personal information.
